Expedition Leadership: 2. Communication
This ONLINE course will introduce communication models and relate them to expedition scenarios to develop participants understanding of leadership and how to effectively apply them in an expedition context.
The Webinar is designed for overseas expedition leaders but also relevant for Duke of Edinburgh award supervisors and those leading long-distance treks in the UK and Europe. Suitable for prospective and new leaders as well as for established leaders who want to develop their skills and share their experiences. This workshop is for those who lead both youth and adult expeditions.
By using video, audio and slides, as well as the break-out rooms for discussions enables the workshop to remain interactive whilst online.

– Expedition context and Scenarios
*Prior to the Webinar you will be sent the expedition scenarios to read in preparation. These will then be discussed during the Webinar.
Participants can receive a full refund up to 24hrs before the Webinar.
The Webinar will count as 0.5 CPD points for MTA.
This is the second in a series of two Webinars which also includes ‘Expedition Leadership: 1. Leadership‘ participants may wish to attend both Webinars but they are stand alone events and there is not any requirement to do both.*
Rebecca Coles is an IML and WMCI and has been leading expeditions for 15 years. Work has taken her to all 7 continents and, together with personal travel, to over 70 countries. She regularly leads for industry leading companies such as Jagged Globe and Secret Compass. She has led expedition on peaks such as Aconcagua and remote treks such as in the remote Wakhan Corridor, Afghanistan. She is a Montane and Julbo Eyewear athlete and Cicerone Press ambassador, Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and has a PhD in Physical Geography.
